Setting the Reed (repair)

I made this video to show how the reed works. It depends on how much the gap under the reed tongue is.

If the gap under the tongue is too wide, the reed is slow to speak.

If the gap is too small, the reed is muted or doesn't speak at all.

If the gap is just right, the reed is fast to speak.

I used the Concertina Tuning Bellows that I bought from David J. Leese in March, 2009.

When I repair our concertinas, I often refer to The Concertina Maintenance Manual by David Elliott. I bought it from David J. Leese, too.
